Research shows that getting involved in your child's education helps him thrive at school. Not only is your child more likely to earn higher grades and stay in school, but according to a study done by the Los Angeles Annenberg Metropolitan Project, the schools themselves get better when parents take an active role. One great way to keep a constant connection to your child's school is to join the PTA.

WATCH D.O.G.S.
(Dads of Great Students) is the father involvement initiative of the National Center for Fathering that organizes fathers and father figures in order to provide positive male role models for the students and to enhance school security.

Who are WatchDOGS? Fathers, grandfathers, step-fathers, uncles, and other father figures who volunteer to serve at least one day each year in a variety of school activities as assigned by the school principal or other administrator.

WATCH D.O.G.S.® is the father involvement initiative of the National Center for Fathering.  The first program was launched at George Elementary in Springdale, AR, the school of Moore’s oldest child. Today, more than 1,500 programs in 36 states and New Zealand participate in WATCH D.O.G.S.®

Get Involved

Get involved for your children and for your community. Studies have shown that membership in PTA provides your child and other children around you with a greater chance of achieving in school. As a PTA member, you are more likely to be an informed, involved parent. Learn ways to keep children safe and involved in school. PTA is the place to gain that knowledge.
